Education Technology

Hilltop Montessori School uses technology as one way of enhancing our mission to teach the skills, knowledge, and behaviors students will need to be successful and responsible members of the community, and lifelong learners. In this unprecedented school year, we may need to rely on technology more than usual to keep our Hilltop community connected if we cannot be together physically. Through a careful approach, involvement from our new Educational Technology Coordinator, we have chosen technology tools that best fit each classroom’s needs. That means that each student will be using technology that best allows them to engage meaningfully with the task at hand. It also means that when (as individuals, groups or the whole school) we must learn from home, we will already have the tools prepared to provide developmentally appropriate child-centered learning. In addition, all students  will be introduced to these tools while at school, with the hopes that they will be able to successfully navigate them from home with less parent support than they might have otherwise needed.

Our Learning from Home program will be designed for children of “school age”: Kindergarten (Children’s House Olders) through 8th grade. Choose a program below to see the tools that will be used in each classroom and tutorials on how to prepare your devices for at home learning.
