Strategic Plan

We on the Board have been enjoying this winter break. Even though it has been quieter, we did take some time to continue our conversation regarding our Strategic Plan. Hilltop is currently in the last year of our current Strategic Plan. This Plan has been a true guiding document for the Board and Tamara during the past five years. It has led to the development of our endowment, a successful Montessori accreditation, and deep, continued exploration and conversations surrounding equity, technology, and language acquisition. We are very proud of the work that Tamara, the Board, and the amazing Hilltop staff have done to further the goals laid out in the Strategic Plan. But, we don’t need to tell you that the world has changed a lot in the past five years! Thus we have begun the process of examining our current goals and developing new ones relevant to the next 5-10 years. To start, a small group of Trustees met with HMS parent and organizational consultant Greg Hessel, who worked with the school years ago to develop the current Strategic Plan. We will be starting a process of gathering some community feedback from families and staff over the next few months, trying to be very mindful of the bandwidth limitations we are all feeling right now. Please stay tuned, and if you have strong feelings about the direction in which you would like to see the school head, and/or expertise in organizational strategic planning which you would like to contribute to the process, please reach out to our Board Chair, Asher!

Speaking of which, we are currently looking for new Trustees to join the Board for the 2021-2022 school year! If you have thought about serving on the Board, please contact Vanessa or Elizabeth on the Committee on Trustees to learn more.
