Parent Involvement
Hilltop Parent Association / HPA
Hilltop Parent Association serves several vital roles in connecting parents to Hilltop and is responsible for coordinating all volunteer activities. All parents are members of the Hilltop Parent Association participating in the activities of the school. Within this organization there are subgroups responsible for particular activities.
HPA CHAIRS
Coordinating all HPA activities in the classroom or in the community requires working with the Head of School, administration and classroom Parent Coordinators.
CLASSROOM PARENT COORDINATORS
Each program requires two or three devoted classroom parents in order to run on all cylinders. In creating and coordinating community and classroom activities classroom parent coordinators meet with teachers, administration or specific event committees on a regular basis to assess needs, make phone calls or coordinate volunteers and offer ideas as to how parents might help. Coordinating all volunteer activities in the classroom or in the community.
OTHER WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE
Events
These parents plan and coordinate community events. Hosting events, setting up or preparing food are some of the roles needed to support the series of community events or parent education workshops that are offered throughout the school year.
Fundraising
Parents are needed throughout the year to plan and coordinate the activities of yearly Hilltop fundraising events, such as the Hilltop’s Annual Appeal, Friends of Hilltop Benefit Auction committees to name a few. These events involve a range of activities from phone-a-thons to soliciting auction items. These committees are invaluable and fun.
Public Relations
This group assists in planning and publicizing full school community meetings and parent education events as well as helping with new student recruitment efforts, open houses and new family welcomes. This group would also pursue media coverage of events when appropriate.
Classroom and Program Support
Whether it be carpooling for field trips, cooking, material making, or giving a presentation, teachers and students value the support parents can contribute to the classrooms.

Building and Grounds
The campus requires parents who are interested in gardening, carpentry or many of the activities involved in maintaining the health and growth of the school environment.
